New release - ANOTHER STEP 'Fallacy'

ANOTHER STEP is a melodic hardcore band from Tokyo, Japan.
Formed in 2008 featuring members of GUIDING, CAL, The Victory and ASIANBEAUTYMURDER.
They've shared the stage with Earth Crisis, Culture, Morning Again, THE IDORU, Taken, Silent Planet and more bands on their Japanese Tours.
Now, having recorded new material for the first time in 10 years, their new release - 'Fallacy' is going on sale on 1st April 2025. Put this date in your calendar!

I've already given this album a few good spins, and as much as I'm not even into the melodic end of hardcore so much, this one totally won me over. It's not the kinda album where you just cherry pick a few favourite tracks which are worth listening to, the entire album is consistent, like a story you listen to from start to finish. Every track just falls smoothly into another despite being varied and the album, as a whole, just makes sense.
Consisting of very impressive, tight musicianship throughout, melody is served in palletable doses leaving the rawer parts to still kick hard. So fear not, the songs are still mosh-pit worthy!
What I personally like a lot, are the brutal and vicious vocals, which don't fall into pop-ish singing like the vast majority of bands in this scene. Obviously, the music slows down in places and some parts are spoken, but it doesn't compromise its heaviness.
It's a perfect mix of brutality and atmospheric melody, and if all the post hardcore bands had the ability to combine it in that ratio - I'd be game!

I wanted to know what the lyrics are about, and Irino (vo) summed it up in this sentence: "We all want to help each other and keep life on earth without the bloodshed."

When it comes to general inspiration and influence - Yama, who serves on guitar and is also the main composer, said: "I was influenced by bands like Shai Hulud, Taken, Life In Your Way and lyricism when writing songs."

Also Isao (gu) added a bit: "I wrote just one song on this album, named 'Apology'. I love early 2000's screamo, metalcore and metallic hardcore, so I value this atmosphere when I'm writing the songs."

The whole album was recorded in just 3 days, which didn't give the guys much time for having fun, but being fully focused on quality, the result speaks for itself.

I hope you'll check it, below is more release information and links.
